Stamatis Karakatsanis

Dr. Karakatsanis graduated from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina in 2005. He was then trained in Internal Medicine and Hematology, first at the Internal Medicine Clinic, General Hospital of Halkida and then at the Hematology and Lymphoma Clinic - Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, General Hospital of Athens “Evaggelismos”, where he completed his residency in 2015. Dr Karakatsanis completed also the Postgraduate Program of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) Medical School in “Thoracic Oncology - Modern Clinical Laboratory Approach and Research” in 2011, and in September 2015 he participated in the Postgraduate program of the European Hematology Association. Since November of the same year he is an Academic Scholar of the NKUA Medical School and participates in the clinical, research and teaching program of the Hematology Unit of the 3rd Internal Medicine Clinic of the NKUA Medical School at the 'Sotiria' Regional Chest Diseases Hospital, while in July 2021 Dr. Karakatsanis was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree "Cum laude" from the NKUA Medical School. He is a member of the Hellenic Society of Haematology as well as the European Hematology Association and he has published both scientific and popular papers related to hematological diseases, while he has also participated in Greek and European medical conferences with oral presentations and posters.
