Dr Pedro Ciudad is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon from Peru. He has the following postgraduate degrees: Fellowship in Advanced Reconstructive Microsurgery, Master’s in Microsurgical Research, PhD in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.  

Currently, he is working as head of the Microsurgery Unit at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Burn Surgery at the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital in Lima- Peru and as an Overseas Consultant at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the China Medical University Hospital in Taiwan. 

He has vast experience in the super/microsurgery for lymphedema. Moreover, he has described several new techniques and combined approaches in the surgical treatment of lymphedema. 

Dr Ciudad has published over 143 peer-reviewed research articles, he has coedited a textbook book on the surgical treatment of Lymphedema and has contributed chapters for different books in plastic surgery. He is a reviewer for multiple international plastic surgery journals. He is part of the board of the Latin-American Association of Microsurgery (ALAM). 

Dr Ciudad has been invited to give several lectures in national and international conferences regarding the micro and macro surgical treatment of lymphedema.
