Ass. Prof. Martin Wald, MD, PhD

• born on February 10, 1955 in Prague
• graduated from the 1 ^st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University Prague in July 1981
• professional live is devoted to general surgery and lymphatic surgery at the
• Department of Surgery, 2nd Medical School, Charles University in Prague-Motol
• since1993 postgraduate fellow at the same department (PhD 2010)
• associate professor of Surgery (November 2013)
• since 1990 besides the surgery great interest has been devoted to systemic effects of proteases on biological systems including human beings
• founder of surgery for lymphatic insufficience and its complications in the Czech Republic including resectional and causal procedures
• research, lecture and publication activities involve this both fields from the theoretical aspects, experimental works and clinical application point of view 
• member of the Czech and the Slovak Societies of Lymphology
• since 2013 President of the Czech Society of Lymphology
• member of the Executive Committee and Scientific Committee of the European Society of Lymphology
• member of the International Society of Lymphology
