Professor Mariella Catalano is the Director of the Inter-University Research Center on Vascular Disease & Angiology Unit - Department of Biomedical Science, L. Sacco University Hospital-Milan (IT). She founded the European WG on Angiology/Vascular Medicine, the first organization on European Education and in Angiology/Vascular Medicine, then of VAS. She is President of the VAS-European Independent Foundation in Angiology/Vascular Medicine (www.vas-int.net), Honorary President of the UEMS Division of Angiology/Vascular Medicine and member of the European Board for European Exam in Angiology/Vascular Medicine. She is responsible for Educational activities with University of Milan as well as in VAS (European Postgraduate Course, European Master, VAS European Book in Angiology/Vascular Medicine). International and European networking and collaborative activities as well as independence of research & education and equity are the basis of her general commitment. Main research area of interest is PAD.
