Clinical activity in General Surgery, Surgical Lymphology and Reconstructive Microsurgery. Main clinical activities and fields of interests: Lymphedema Diagnosis and Treatment, Prevention of Secondary Lymphedema, Prevention and Treatment of Lymphatic Complications in Oncologic and Vascular Surgery, Diagnosis and Treatment of Primary and Secondary Thoracic, Abdominal and Peripheral Chylous Disorders, Lymphatic Dysfunctions in General and Trauma Surgery, the use of ICG Fluorescence in Reconstructive Microsurgery, General and Vascular Surgery.
He conceived and carried out an original microsurgical technique for primary prevention of arm lymphedema in breast cancer patients: LY.M.P.H.A. – Lymphatic Microsurgical Preventive Healing Approach. The use of this preventative technique has been extended also to other oncological fields (gynecological, urological cancers, skin melanoma, etc.).
He is Author and Co-Author of over 250 scientific publications and of Chapters for 25 Textbooks of General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. Invited speaker, Chairman and President of over 200 national and international Congresses.
