Professor Agata Stanek, MD, PhD, a specialist in internal medicine and angiology (vascular medicine), works at Department and Clinic of Internal Medicine, Angiology and Physical Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences in Zabrze, Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland (position: vice-Head); Director of Doctoral School of Medical University of Silesia; Regional Consultant in Angiology for Silesian Voivodeship; Member of the Regional Board for the Health Needs of the Silesian Voivodeship; Member of the Medical Examination Board for specialty certificate in angiology; Board Member of the Polish Society for Angiology,  European Society for Vascular Medicine; Advisory Board Member of VAS- European Independent Foundation in Angiology/ Vascular Medicine. Her clinical and research work is focused on arterial, venous and inflammatory vascular disease as well as lymphatic edema.  Professor Stanek authored more than 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Se is also the co-author and scientific editor of 5 monographs.
